Key topicsExperts lose trust when their story has no spineExperts, coaches, and consultants are under pressure to sound human without turning every conversation into a personal confessional. The common mistake is thinking vulnerability alone creates trust, when audiences usually need a clear point, useful structure, and a reason the story matters to them. Writing across resilience, grief, stress, and caregiving has shown how lived experience connects when it is shaped around the listener's problem rather than the speaker's catharsis. This conversation gives expert audiences a practical way to make personal stories feel grounded, relevant, and credible.Purpose-led leaders need clearer messages than louder marketingPurpose-led founders, advocates, and professional service providers often have meaningful work that gets flattened into generic positioning. The hidden risk is assuming more visibility will fix a message that listeners cannot repeat, remember, or connect to a real-world need. Cassie's work around voice, message, and human-centred communication points to a more useful question for these audiences: what do you want to be known for, and who needs to hear it most? This episode can help leaders sharpen the through-line between their lived experience, their expertise, and the audience they are trying to serve.Readers trust books that make private pain usableAuthors, advocates, and creatives who write from lived experience face a difficult line between honesty and overexposure. The mistake is believing a powerful life event automatically becomes a powerful message, when readers need language that helps them understand their own experience more clearly. Across nine published books and more than 500 five-star reviews, Cassie's work on resilience, grief, stress, dementia awareness, and writing shows how private pain can be shaped into something useful for others. This episode gives writers a grounded look at turning personal experience into work that feels generous, structured, and emotionally safe for the reader.View all topics →

A nine-time published author with more than 500 five-star book reviews, Cassie has built her career around storytelling, publishing, speaking and creating meaningful conversations. After closing her author-mentoring business, she moved into the podcast industry, working with a podcast agency and developing her expertise in strategy, storytelling and thought leadership.

Cassie is an experienced keynote speaker who has spoken multiple times on BBC Radio and has been featured in both local and national press. She understands how to take the experiences, knowledge and ideas someone has and turn them into stories and conversations that create trust, credibility and genuine connection.

Her passion is helping people move from having a story to becoming known for the message within it - using conversation to build visibility and authority without losing the human story behind the expertise.

Cassie is also a passionate advocate for dementia and Alzheimer’s awareness, following the loss of her mum to Alzheimer’s disease. Through her book I’ve Lost My Mum, speaking and sharing her own experiences, she continues to raise awareness of the realities faced by families and caregivers.
