Master Fitness Trainer, Change Leader, Elite Rower and Author at Well Past Forty LLC
David Frost is a Master Fitness Trainer, world-record-holding endurance rower, adjunct professor, and author of three health and wellness books. Raised in New Jersey as the second of seven children, he went on to the U.S. Naval Academy, where rowing first became a serious discipline and a lasting influence on how he thinks about effort, resilience, and long-term health. His career later spanned military service, defense work, teaching, speechwriting, nonprofit leadership, and fitness coaching.
In his seventies, after a lifetime of staying active, David was told by his cardiologist that he had the coronary arteries of a much older man. That diagnosis sent him deeper into the study of heart disease, genetics, inflammation, and what it really takes to protect health span, not just lifespan. He approached it the way he has approached other complex problems in his life: by breaking them down, studying the root cause, and turning what he learned into something practical enough for other people to use.
Today, David is focused on helping more people age with strength, clarity, and dignity. Through Well Past Forty, his writing, speaking, podcast appearances, and coaching, he offers a grounded alternative to the noise of the wellness world: no magic pill, no shortcut, just meaningful habits, honest effort, and accessible ways to live better for longer. He is especially motivated by the chance to reach ordinary people, not just high performers, and to use his work in service of others, including wounded warriors, adaptive athletes, and the nonprofits he supports.
As a podcast guest, David brings hard-earned perspective, humor, and a deeply practical view of what it means to stay strong, curious, and useful as the years add up.
