Key topicsMidlife burnout is not fixed by prettier self careFor women carrying career pressure, family change, menopause, caregiving, or years of being the reliable one, burnout often gets mistaken for a self-care problem. The advice to rest, journal, meditate, or book a weekend away can feel hollow when the real issue is that a woman has spent years overriding her own needs. This conversation gives wellness and personal development audiences a more honest look at recovery. It can explore why emotional resilience starts with noticing what has been ignored, rebuilding energy through small daily choices, and treating self-care as a return to self rather than another performance standard. Midlife women are not stuck because they lack motivationMany women over 50 are told they need more discipline, positivity, or confidence when they hit a major transition. But after divorce, empty nest, career change, relocation, or loss, the real issue is often that the old identity no longer fits and the new one has not been built yet. This conversation gives midlife listeners a grounded way to understand the stuckness they feel without shame. It can explore the first practical steps toward renewed purpose, including mindset shifts, small commitments, reflection, and rebuilding confidence through action rather than waiting to feel ready. Toxic relationships leave women doubting their own judgmentAfter divorce or a toxic relationship, many women are not only grieving the relationship. They are trying to rebuild trust in their own perceptions, choices, boundaries, and ability to create a safe next chapter. This episode speaks to women who look functional on the outside but still second-guess themselves in private. It can unpack the slow work of recovering self-belief, making decisions without fear, and learning to hear your own voice again after years of confusion or emotional erosion. View all topics →

About Anne Paphitis

Resilience Coach, Speaker & Personal Reinvention Expert

2019 Began formal coaching trainingFounder Cambridge school for students outside mainstream education3 steps Crown Intentions reinvention roadmapAcquired business Rebuilding a new company

Anne Paphitis builds work from the conviction that life can be rebuilt, even after everything familiar has been stripped away. Born and raised in South Africa, she spent years running a Cambridge school she founded for young people who did not fit into mainstream education - students wrestling with anxiety, bullying, depression or simply falling through the cracks. Watching teenagers who once doubted themselves sit exams, head to university and later return with messages of thanks shaped her belief that change often starts the moment someone finally believes they can do more.

A formal coaching course in 2019 gave Anne new tools to work with that same dynamic in adults.

She has reinvented her own life several times: falling unexpectedly in love with Ireland, emigrating, and more recently selling her school and buying another business she is rebuilding. Those lived pivots - the uncertainties, the practical choices and the tiny steps that rekindled hope - are the material of her work.

She is drawn to conversations that lift people out of survival mode and help them reconnect with purpose, confidence and simple joy.

Anne prefers dialog and human connection to one-way advice. She loves being onstage or in conversation because she feeds off other people’s energy and watches them leave with a small but real shift.

Anne shares how her personal journey of starting over led her to coach young students with social anxiety and help them build their confidence.

She explains that middle-aged women often feel overwhelmed and lost in the exact same ways as younger students when going through big life transitions.

She talks about her own brave move to Ireland four years ago to completely reinvent her life and help women lower their daily stress.

Anne shares why you need to audit your life first and declutter old habits before trying to add new self-care routines to a full schedule.

She encourages women not to be afraid to ask for help or find online support groups to be their ultimate cheerleading squad during changes.

She reveals that her favorite way to practice self-care is simply stepping away to clear her mind, like taking a walk in nature or spending time in the garden.
