The Parenting Assumption questions the belief that children’s behaviour needs to be managed, corrected, or controlled. Instead of offering techniques or step by step advice, it looks at the assumptions behind modern parenting and why so much effort often leads to more tension rather than less. The book explores why explanation, discipline, and consistency frequently fail, and why children develop not through being taught how to behave, but through the conditions they grow up in. It shows how behaviour is a response to environment, not a problem in itself.
