Founder, Clear Signal Partners
Helping healthcare businesses find and fix the trust failures that cost them patients.
Dale Atkinson is the founder of Clear Signal Partners, a healthcare consultancy that audits the patient experience from the outside in. His flagship methodology – the Patient Trust Audit – puts him through a client’s patient journey as a real prospective patient, with no insider knowledge, and reports back exactly where trust breaks down and what it’s costing them.
What makes Dale’s perspective unusual is where it comes from. He spent nearly two decades in compliance, governance, and financial crime across HSBC, Wellington Management, Schroders, and Deutsche Bank – chairing committees, running global teams, and building trust frameworks inside regulated institutions. In October 2024, he was diagnosed with Stage IV oesophageal cancer – inoperable, incurable, given less than a year. He found himself on the other side of a trust system, and the gaps were worse than anything he’d seen in financial services.
Since diagnosis, Dale has spent nearly half a million pounds navigating private healthcare alongside NHS treatment, building his own integrative protocol, and speaking to hundreds of patients with similar experiences. That combination – regulated governance professional, Stage IV cancer patient, and active private healthcare consumer – is the lens through which Clear Signal Partners operates. No one else is auditing healthcare trust from that intersection.
Dale spoke at HIMSS Europe 2026 in Copenhagen, where he argued that European healthcare systems record what clinicians do, what operations cost, and what regulators require – but almost nowhere record what the patient actually sees, feels, and decides. He writes about integrative health approaches on The Life Organic, a research-led blog covering the evidence behind his own treatment protocol. He’s also building Beyond the Standard, a charity advocating for better access to evidence-led complementary cancer treatment and more patient-focused care models, alongside Jane McLelland (author of How to Starve Cancer).
During chemotherapy, Dale also acquired Peak Health & Fitness – a premium wellness equipment business selling the same saunas, ice baths, and red light therapy devices that form part of his cancer treatment protocol. He’s currently writing a book about the experience.
As a podcast guest, Dale doesn’t speak in abstractions. He brings named institutions, specific numbers, lived patient experience, and a compliance professional’s instinct for where systems are failing the people they’re supposed to serve.
