Co-Parenting Coach and Former Family Court Judge
Before becoming a guide for families in conflict, Peggy Walsh spent nearly two decades as a judge in New York’s Family and State Supreme Courts. She presided over some of the most emotionally complex cases—custody disputes, divorces, child protection—and saw firsthand the toll that litigation takes on families. Today, she channels that experience into her work as The CoParent Coach, helping separated parents and caregivers avoid court, rebuild communication, and move forward for the sake of their children.
Peggy’s coaching isn’t therapy, and it’s not legal advice. It’s a pragmatic, relationship-focused approach to resolving impasses that otherwise lead people back into cycles of resentment or legal escalation. She works with adults who are stuck in power struggles and need help developing parenting agreements, communication boundaries, and long-term solutions that actually work.
Having heard thousands of stories from the bench, Peggy understands that people don’t behave badly because they’re bad people, they’re usually just hurt, scared, or overwhelmed. That belief anchors her work. She helps clients see beyond the heat of conflict to make decisions that serve both their own wellbeing and their children’s future stability.
Her message is rooted in clarity, not judgment. Peggy helps people shift from adversarial thinking to collaborative co-parenting, even when the relationship feels beyond repair. She also offers a grounded reality check on what family court actually looks like—something few parents truly understand until it’s too late.
As a podcast guest, Peggy brings a rare blend of courtroom experience and emotional intelligence to conversations about conflict, parenting, separation, and what it really takes to protect your child’s future when the relationship ends.
